現在の日本に於いて、幼稚園や保育所の利用は、当たり前のように考えられている。
待機児童への対応が、社会問題となっているのは、
就園の希望に対し、受け入れ先が不足している為である。
一刻も早い対応が望まれるところではあるが、現在、就園は義務ではない。
とあるアンケートによれば、就労男性の考える専業主婦の時給は、０円だという。
保育士の給料が、業務内容に対して低すぎると問題になったが、
子育てを家事の一環だと考えているならば、給料を出すだけましだと言うのが本音だろう。
現在では想像さえ難しいが、少し歴史を紐解けば、
母親が子どもを育てるのは当たり前であり、
他人に預けること自体、恥と考えられた時代があった。
子どもは家庭で育てるのが当たり前であり、他所に預けて就労するとしたら、
経済的な困窮など、切羽詰まった事情があると見なされた時代である。
経済的な困窮と言えば、現在の日本にも通じるところがある。
待機児童の存在が問題だとされるのは、
子育てを含めた生活そのものが困窮しており、保護者が就労を希望している為である。
子育ての為に給料が必要であり、その為には子どもを預けなければならない。
ところで、就園は義務ではないと最初に書いた。
義務教育は無償だが、就園は有料である。
受け入れ先の不足は不本意な理由だが、経済的な理由で、
就園そのものを考えない家庭も少なからず存在する。
時代錯誤な発言が許されるならば、
迷惑施設とさえ言われる幼稚園や保育所から、
子どもを家庭に返し、家庭で子育てをさせてはどうだろう。
日本に於ける幼稚園や保育所の歴史は、
家庭で育てた歴史に比べれば、随分と短いのだ。
しかしながら、これは現実的ではない。
何故なら、家庭の構成が、当時とは大きく異なっているからだ。
核家族が当たり前になり、加えて長時間労働で、
働き手たる保護者は、殆ど家に居ない。
子育てとは、次世代を育むことである。
世代と言うのは、個人では実現しない。
家庭での子育てが、次世代を育むことができたのは、
それが複数世代によって構成されていたからである。
血縁上の家族だけでなく、地域のコミュニティも含めて家族であり、
子ども達はそこで育てられた。
集団生活の中で暮らした子どもは、周囲の人間とその関わりの中から、
社会性を身に付けていったのである。
翻って、昨今の子育てはどうだろう。
社会性を身に付けるよりも、
個人としての力量を高めることに重きが置かれているようである。
自立を促せば、手の掛からない子どもに育ちはしても、
人の中で生きていく人間にはなりにくい。
個人主義は決して否定されるものではないが、
主義を通すにしても、人は人の中で暮らす生き物なのである。
優れた能力をもっていても、理解されなければ活かされることは無い。
良き理解者を得るにしても、そこには他者と関係を築く力が必要になる。
自分自身を含め、世の中には色々な考え方をもった人がいると知ることが、
他者と関係を築く第一歩である。
他者を知らないスタンドプレーは、只のスタンドプレーに過ぎず、
誰かに発見されるのを待つだけが、
他者を意識してのスタンドプレーは、関係性を広げていき、
緩やかなチームプレイの様相を呈する。
緩やかなチームプレイは、最近は嫌われる傾向にある。
何らかの役割が常に求められ、フリーという立場があまり重んじられない。
責任の所在を明らかにするという意味では有効だが、
替えが効かないと言う弱点にもなる。
寿退社が推奨されたのは、
そこで完全に職員を入れ替え、責任を明確にできるからである。
また、育児休暇後に職場に復帰した場合、
その期間分の給与を上乗せすることになっているが、
子育て自体に価値を見出していないので、
辞めてもらった方が、企業としては都合が良いのである。
長い目で見れば、次世代を育む子育てこそ至高なのだが、
企業としては目先の利益が重要であり、新人研修さえ軽んじる昨今である。
技術者が育たないのも、ここに理由がある。
現在の日本は、利益の為に効率を追い求め、余裕を設けない方向に舵を切った。
世界的に有名なハンバーガーショップが撤退を始めている直接の理由は、
売り上げが落ちている為であるが、そうなった一番の理由は、
作業の効率化のみを進め、顧客のリサーチを怠った為である。
事務的な手続きを簡略化するのは効率化の一つだが、
長期的な視野で見たとき、どのようなことを効率化と呼ぶのだろう。
人間は思考する生き物であり、思考するには、脳への栄養補給が欠かせない。
従って、食事を抜いて仕事をするのは効率化とは呼べない。
優れたビジネスマンは、個食を好まない。
人間は対話する生き物だからである。
アイデアや人脈は、思考と会話の中で作り出される。
デジタル機器の進化から、電話は携帯可能な情報端末となった。
優れた道具を手に入れた人類は、しかし情報端末として有効活用するよりも、
暇つぶしの道具として活用しているようである。
それ自体は良いのだが、誰かと会話するよりも、
一人で動画を眺めている時間が長いのは頂けない。
特に、思考する習慣が形成される前に、
一方的に与えられる視覚聴覚刺激に反応するだけの生活は、人間性を失わせる。
テレビ育児が問題となったのは、情報が一方的に与えられるばかりで、
関係を築く力にならないからである。
情報に対して条件反射するようになれば、プロパガンダに簡単に流されてしまう。
これは、生活に対する漠然とした不満を抱える中、

そういう価値観で生きて来た彼にとって、
にらまれたら殴り返すのは正当な行為であり、
恐らくは事情聴取で、堂々と理由を答えたのである。
一つの企業だけを知っていて、それが当たり前だと思っていれば、
労働基準法に照らし合わせて異常な就労実態があっても、
おかしいとは思わないだろう。
優れた情報端末を手にして、情報交流が容易になったため、

しかしながら、他を知らなければ、問題に気付くことはできない。
